Welcome to the reimagined, and rebooted blog chronicling the adventures of the Smoly Family.  We are so pleased that you're joining us on what is going to be the first of many future updates as our family prepares for a grand adventure.

We have been so incredibly blessed to have lived in a number of truly amazing places during the nine years we've been married:  Florida, twice in Colorado and at present, Washington, D.C. Now we are so excited to begin a new chapter. Through my job with the Air Force, we have been presented an opportunity to live out what many people can only dream about. I've accepted a new position and we'll be making the hop across the pond to Ramstein Air Base, Germany next month.

This move has been one large game of being patient thus far.  I got offered this position last October as my fellowship was beginning to wind down.  The process got bogged down by the nearly three-month long civilian hiring freeze that started in January, and now over the last month and a half, things have finally begun to significantly progress.  We received our orders yesterday and it has been a sprint ever since.
